Rescues and News about Malibu SAR

05

Malibu CA:  2011 was a record year for Malibu SAR.  Malibu SAR responded to 128 calls for service.  This consitutes not only a record for Malibu SAR but is also an all time record for any Los Angeles County search and rescue in the history of such teams.  Malibu SAR is proud to have set this record of service to Los Angeles County, its residents, visitors and patrons.  We look forward to another year of serving our community.

Malibu SAR is composed of Los Angeles County Reserve deputies, Civilian Volunteer Specialists and Civilian Volunteers who collectively volunteer their time for a variety of search and rescue activities.  2011 included rescues such as victims of cars that drive off of cliffs, injured and missing hikers, climbers and handgliders; searches for evidence, suspects and missing persons; and brush fire related activities and more.
