Malibu CA:  LACO Fire personnel requested the assistance of the Malibu Search and Rescue Team to respond to Malibu Creek State Park Sunday regarding an injured hiker, reported to be near the Rock Pool area back in the gorge.  The teenage hiker was reported to have an injured ankle.  Malibu SAR personnel responded, hiked into the remote area, deployed an inflatable boat, and shuttled fire and SAR rescuers over the Rock Pool water feature into the gorge area.  Rescuers located the hiker behind the secondary rock formations and water feature and determined that a helicopter rescue was likely the best option for evacuation.  An LACO Fire  helicopter responded, lowered a paramedic and then raised the victim into the copter.  The victim was then evacuated.  Remaining personnel hiked back out of the gorge area.
