Malibu CA: 3 young adults were trapped in their BMW after plunging 75 feet off of Pacific Coast Hwy near Puerco Canyon in Malibu. The vehicle exited the highway on the "land side" and ended up resting in deep brush and trees. Malibu SAR and LACO Fire personnel responded and performed a impressive joint operation, evacuating each patient using Malibu SAR's truck and winch system. Two of the patients were taken by ambulance to awaiting helicopters for transport to nearby trauma centers. The third patient was transported by ground ambulance.
