Malibu CA:  Malibu SAR and LACO Fire personnel trained for vehicle over the side operations Sunday morning after completing an actual early morning car over the side rescue.  During the lunch break, while awaiting fresh fire personnel for the afternoon drill module, Malibu SAR received a call for a motorcycle over the side rescue on Mulholland Hwy, 2 miles West of Malibu Canyon, about 5 miles from the earlier car over.  The drill was quickly cancelled and the team responded to the location.  In dense brush, a 54 year old man was located about 50-75 feet over the side of the canyon.  The rider was complaining of hip pain and a fracture leg.  The rider was packaged by Malibu SAR and fire personnel and was evacuated from using the Malibu SAR winch truck.  Once the rider was brought topside, he was placed in an ambulance that drove him to a landing zone where LACO Fire Copter 16 was waiting.  The rider was then flown to a nearby trauma center for treatment.
