Rescues and News about Malibu SAR

Malibu CA:  Malibu SAR and LACO Fire Department Battalion 5 personnel are set to conduct multiple joint car-over-the-side drills on October 16th and 30th on Kanan Road near the Newton Canyon/Backbone trailhead in Malibu.  The trainings will run all day commencing at 9:30 a.m. The purpose of the joint drills is to insure proper understanding of communication protocols, equipment, capabilities and equipment of the fire department and search and rescue crews to better effectuate the location, treatment, extraction and packaging of victims who drive off of cliffs or roads in the greater Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area.
