Malibu CA: A 72 year old male hiker who became separated from his hiking party near Piuma Road and Malibu Canyon called 911 to ask for assistance. The hiker had hiked for over nine hours before reaching out for help. Responding Malibu SAR units requested assistance from Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department helicopter "Air 21", which assisted in locating the missing man. Ground units were dispatched to the hiker's location and safely escorted the uninjured man out of the canyon.
