SALARY.
WHAT SALARY?!?!

- Team members are paid $1.00/year. After taxes this leaves us with about 67 cents. The dollar used to be a formality so that Team members would fall under the County's insurance plan. In 1979 legislation changed that requirement and we now get paid the $1/year out of tradition.

Malibu Search & Rescue is an all volunteer organization. There is no charge for being rescued! Every member of the team volunteers their time and effort because they enjoy helping others and love participating in the Search and Rescue of lost or injured persons. Even though the team is affiliated with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, we still greatly rely on Donations to help support our Search and Rescue efforts.
